About the Role
Our client seeks a meticulous and detail-oriented Aerospace Quality Inspector to join their manufacturing facility in Birmingham . This critical role ensures that all manufactured aircraft components and assemblies meet rigorous quality standards and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections, verifying documentation, and identifying any deviations from specifications. Working closely with production and engineering teams, your expertise will be vital in maintaining the integrity and safety of aerospace products. Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished aerospace products using precision measuring instruments.
- Verify adherence to engineering drawings, specifications, and relevant industry standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP).
- Document inspection results accurately, identify non-conformances, and initiate corrective action procedures.
- Review and approve manufacturing documentation, including work orders, test reports, and certifications.
- Collaborate with production staff and engineers to resolve quality issues and implement process improvements.
- Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with the company's quality management system.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quality Inspector within the aerospace or a closely related manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of quality control principles, inspection techniques, and metrology.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience with various inspection tools and equipment, including CMMs and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, is advantageous.
