After School Club Playworker

About the Role

Our client is seeking an energetic and responsible After School Club Playworker to join their team in Belfast . You will be responsible for supervising and engaging children aged 4-11 years in a variety of fun and stimulating activities after school hours. This role requires a positive attitude, a commitment to child safety, and the ability to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. You will work closely with other playworkers to ensure children have a positive and enjoyable experience, supporting their social and emotional development in a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise children aged 4-11 during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Plan and facilitate a range of engaging play activities, games, arts, and crafts.
• Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all children, encouraging positive social interactions.
• Assist with snack times, ensuring dietary needs are met and food is served safely.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's day and any relevant information.
• Maintain a clean and tidy play environment, ensuring all equipment is safe and accessible.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children, particularly in a play or youth setting.
• A passion for working with children and supporting their development.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A willingness to undertake relevant training, including safeguarding and first aid.
