About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Agricultural Agronomist to join their team in Coventry . This role is crucial for optimising crop yields and soil health for farms across the region, blending on-site fieldwork with data analysis and client consultation. You will work closely with farmers, providing scientific expertise on soil management, crop nutrition, pest control, and planting strategies. The position involves a mix of remote analysis and on-farm visits, ensuring you contribute to efficient and sustainable agricultural practices while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct soil sampling and analysis to assess nutrient levels, pH, and soil structure.
- Develop and implement tailored crop management plans , including fertilization, irrigation, and pest/disease control strategies.
- Advise farmers on the selection of appropriate seeds and crop varieties for specific environmental conditions.
- Monitor crop growth and health, identifying potential issues and recommending timely interventions.
- Utilize data from field trials and farm records to provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in agricultural technology and sustainable farming techniques.
Requirements
- A degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Proven experience in crop management, soil science, and plant nutrition.
- Familiarity with agricultural best practices and sustainable farming methods.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with farmers.
- A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to farms within the designated region.
