Agricultural Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Agricultural Engineer to manage and maintain their fleet of agricultural machinery and infrastructure at their extensive facilities in Belfast , Northern Ireland. This role requires a blend of mechanical expertise and an understanding of the unique demands of the agricultural sector. You will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and optimisation of tractors, harvesters, processing equipment, and irrigation systems, ensuring operational efficiency and minimal downtime. This is a critical role for supporting the farm's productivity and sustainability, ensuring all equipment functions optimally in the Belfast area.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of agricultural machinery and equipment.
• Install, service, and repair irrigation systems, pumps, and related infrastructure.
• Ensure all machinery complies with health and safety regulations and operational standards.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with farm equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and repair costs.
• Advise farm management on equipment upgrades and new technology adoption.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Agricultural Engineering or a related mechanical engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in maintaining and repairing heavy agricultural machinery.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in reading technical manuals and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
