Agricultural Equipment Mechanic

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Agricultural Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair their diverse fleet of farm machinery at their facility in Wolverhampton . This role is critical to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the farm by minimizing equipment downtime. You will be responsible for diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and timely repairs of tractors, harvesters, and other specialized agricultural equipment. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on all agricultural machinery and vehicles.
• Repair and service a wide range of farm equipment, including tractors, combines, plows, and planters.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts, order replacements as needed, and keep workshop areas clean and organized.
• Adhere to safety regulations and ensure all equipment is operated and maintained in a safe condition.
• Document all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and time spent.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with specialized knowledge of agricultural machinery .
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing internal combustion engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software.
• Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools, as well as specialized mechanic equipment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to perform occasional on-site repairs at fields.
