Agricultural Mechanic

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Agricultural Mechanic to provide essential maintenance and repair services for their diverse fleet of agricultural machinery based in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is critical to ensuring the operational efficiency and uptime of tractors, harvesters, cultivators, and other vital farm equipment. You will diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, conduct routine servicing, and perform emergency repairs, often in challenging field conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to keeping the farm running smoothly through meticulous mechanical work.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of agricultural machinery and vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Fabricate or modify parts as necessary for repairs.
• Maintain an organized workshop and manage spare parts inventory.
• Ensure all repairs are completed to a high standard and within safety regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Agricultural Mechanic or in a similar heavy machinery repair role.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
• A valid driving license and the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
