About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous Agricultural Technician with a specialization in soil science to join their research and development team based near Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire . Key Responsibilities
- Collect soil samples from various agricultural sites and conduct laboratory analyses for nutrient levels, pH, organic matter, and contaminants.
- Perform field tests and measurements to assess soil structure, moisture content, and compaction.
- Interpret analytical data and prepare detailed reports on soil health and fertility recommendations.
- Assist in the design and execution of field trials for new soil amendments, fertilizers, and cultivation techniques.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration for accurate scientific measurements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to farmers and agricultural consultants on effective soil management strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a related agricultural discipline.
- Hands-on experience with soil sampling techniques and laboratory analysis procedures.
- Familiarity with agricultural practices and the challenges faced by farmers in the Milton Keynes area.
- Proficiency in data analysis and scientific report writing.
- Ability to work independently in the field and in a laboratory setting.
