About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Agricultural Technician to support their farming operations near Edinburgh, Scotland, UK . This role is essential for the day-to-day running and maintenance of modern agricultural machinery and technology. You will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and calibration of a wide range of equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime. This is a hands-on position perfect for someone with a technical aptitude and an interest in the agricultural sector, contributing to the efficiency and productivity of a progressive farming enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on tractors, harvesters, and other farm machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with agricultural equipment and associated systems.
• Install, calibrate, and test new technology and precision farming equipment.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and repair logs.
• Assist with the safe operation of machinery during peak seasons.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the workshop and on the farm.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a mechanic or technician, preferably with agricultural machinery.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, with the ability to read technical diagrams.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, and engine systems.
• Familiarity with precision agriculture technologies is a significant advantage.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently, often under time pressure.
• A relevant qualification in Engineering, Mechanics, or Agriculture.
