About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and skilled Agricultural Technician to support their operations in the picturesque countryside surrounding Edinburgh . This role is crucial for the smooth running of daily farm activities, focusing on the maintenance and operation of agricultural machinery and equipment, as well as assisting with various field tasks. You will work closely with the farm management team, ensuring that all technical aspects of the farm are functioning optimally to support crop production and livestock welfare. This is a hands-on position for someone with a practical mindset and a passion for agriculture.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a range of agricultural machinery, including tractors, harvesters, and planting equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and minor repairs on farm equipment and vehicles.
• Assist with field operations such as ploughing, sowing, and crop spraying.
• Monitor and record equipment performance and maintenance logs.
• Support livestock management tasks as needed, such as feeding and enclosure maintenance.
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety protocols on the farm.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a technician or mechanic, preferably in an agricultural setting.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining agricultural machinery.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• A valid UK driving licence is essential; experience with agricultural vehicles is a strong advantage.
