Agricultural Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Agricultural Technician to provide technical support and expertise to farms across Northern Ireland, with a focus on the Belfast area. This role involves maintaining and repairing a range of agricultural machinery, installing and calibrating precision farming equipment, and troubleshooting technical issues remotely or on-site. You will play a vital part in ensuring farmers have reliable equipment and access to cutting-edge technology to optimize their operations. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on tractors, harvesters, and other farm machinery.
• Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot GPS systems, sensor technology, and other precision agriculture equipment.
• Provide technical support and guidance to farmers, both remotely and through site visits.
• Assist with the implementation of new agricultural technologies and software solutions.
• Maintain accurate service logs and inventory of spare parts.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently, adhering to industry standards.

Requirements

• HND or Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing agricultural machinery.
• Familiarity with precision agriculture technologies, including GPS and sensor systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote-first support capacity.
