About the Role
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Agronomist to join their agricultural science team. This role focuses on the analysis of soil, crop, and environmental data to provide actionable recommendations for optimizing farm productivity and sustainability. You will work closely with field agents and farmers to interpret complex datasets, identify trends, and develop tailored crop management plans. This position is based at our Sunderland office, offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge agricultural research and application in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse soil samples, crop health reports, and environmental data to diagnose issues and identify nutrient deficiencies.
- Develop scientifically-backed recommendations for crop nutrition, pest and disease management, and irrigation strategies.
- Advise farmers and agricultural managers on best practices for maximising crop yields and quality while minimising environmental impact.
- Conduct field trials and experiments to evaluate new products, techniques, and crop varieties.
- Maintain accurate records of analyses, recommendations, and trial results using farm management software.
- Collaborate with research teams and provide insights for developing innovative agricultural solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related agricultural discipline.
- Proven experience as an Agronomist or in a similar agricultural advisory role.
- Strong understanding of plant physiology, soil science, and integrated pest management.
- Proficiency in data analysis, statistical software, and agricultural information systems.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Knowledge of UK agricultural practices and environmental regulations.
