Agronomist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Agronomist to join their agricultural services team in Coventry . In this critical role, you will provide expert advice on crop production, soil health, and pest management to a diverse range of agricultural clients. You will conduct field assessments, analyze soil and plant samples, and develop tailored recommendations to optimize crop yields and ensure sustainable farming practices. This position offers a unique blend of office-based analysis and field-based consultancy, allowing you to make a tangible impact on agricultural productivity and environmental stewardship throughout the West Midlands.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site field assessments to evaluate soil conditions, crop health, and pest or disease outbreaks.
• Analyze soil, tissue, and water samples to determine nutrient deficiencies and recommend appropriate fertilizers and amendments.
• Develop and implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies tailored to specific crops and environmental conditions.
• Provide expert advice to farmers and growers on best practices for cultivation, irrigation, and harvesting.
• Research and stay updated on the latest advancements in agronomy, crop science, and sustainable farming techniques.
• Prepare detailed reports and present findings and recommendations to clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related agricultural discipline.
• Proven experience in agricultural consulting or research, with a strong understanding of crop physiology and soil science .
• Familiarity with modern agricultural technologies, including precision farming tools and data analysis software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills .
• Ability to work independently and travel to client sites across the Coventry region and beyond.
