About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and skilled AI Data Engineer to join their growing data team in Norwich . You will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure that support our AI and machine learning initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and distributed systems, with a specific focus on preparing and optimizing data for AI model training and deployment. The ideal candidate will ensure the availability, quality, and efficiency of data critical to our AI advancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems and pipelines for AI applications.
- Develop and implement ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses or data lakes.
- Optimize data infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to understand their data needs and provide clean, structured datasets.
- Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used for AI models.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on supporting AI/ML projects.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Data Lake).
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python for data manipulation and pipeline automation is crucial for this role in Norwich .
