About the Role
Our client is seeking a forward-thinking AI Ethics and Governance Lead to establish and champion responsible AI practices within their organization, based in Belfast . This critical role involves developing frameworks, policies, and guidelines to ensure that AI systems are developed and deployed ethically, fairly, and transparently. You will work closely with data scientists, engineers, legal teams, and business leaders to embed ethical considerations throughout the AI lifecycle. This is a unique opportunity to shape responsible innovation in AI in Northern Ireland and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive AI ethics principles, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Conduct ethical risk assessments for AI projects and provide guidance on mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure AI systems are designed with fairness, accountability, and transparency in mind.
- Monitor AI systems for bias, discrimination, and unintended consequences, recommending corrective actions.
- Provide training and raise awareness on AI ethics and responsible AI practices across the organization.
- Engage with external stakeholders, regulators, and industry bodies on AI ethics topics.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Ethics, Law, Computer Science, Public Policy, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, data governance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of AI technologies, machine learning principles, and their societal implications.
- Excellent knowledge of ethical frameworks, regulatory landscapes, and best practices in AI governance.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
