AI Ethics Specialist

About the Role

Our client is establishing a dedicated AI Ethics function and is seeking an experienced AI Ethics Specialist to join their team in Sunderland . This crucial role involves developing and implementing ethical frameworks, guidelines, and best practices for the responsible development and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies. You will work closely with AI researchers, engineers, legal teams, and policy makers to ensure that our client's AI systems are fair, transparent, accountable, and aligned with societal values. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust AI ethics policies and governance frameworks.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments for new and existing AI projects.
• Provide expert guidance on issues of bias, fairness, transparency, and accountability in AI.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote responsible AI practices.
• Contribute to training programs on AI ethics for technical and non-technical staff.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Ethics, Philosophy, Law, Computer Science, or a related field with an ethics focus.
• 3+ years of experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their societal implications.
• Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.
• Ability to navigate complex ethical dilemmas and provide practical recommendations.
