About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated AI Ethics Specialist to join their growing team, operating in a fully remote capacity, with team members distributed across various locations including Edinburgh . This critical role will focus on ensuring that artificial intelligence technologies are developed and deployed responsibly, ethically, and in alignment with societal values and regulatory requirements. You will play a key part in shaping the ethical framework for AI development, mitigating risks, and fostering trust in AI systems, contributing to a culture of responsible innovation globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement policies and guidelines for responsible AI development and deployment.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments of AI systems and provide recommendations for mitigation.
• Advise product and engineering teams on ethical considerations throughout the AI lifecycle.
• Stay informed about evolving AI ethics research, regulations, and best practices globally.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions on AI ethics for internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to public discourse and thought leadership on AI ethics and responsible AI.

Requirements

• Degree in Philosophy, Ethics, Law, Computer Science, or a related field with an ethics focus.
• Demonstrated understanding of artificial intelligence principles and their societal implications.
• Experience in ethics, risk management, or policy development, preferably related to technology.
• Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.
• Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and navigate complex ethical dilemmas.
