About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and technically adept Aircraft Design Engineer specializing in structures, to join their esteemed engineering team in Oxford . This role involves contributing to the conceptualization, design, and development of aircraft structures and components, ensuring they meet stringent performance, safety, and manufacturability requirements. You will work on challenging projects, utilizing advanced design tools and collaborating with a team of experts to innovate and optimize aircraft airframe integrity and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop aircraft structural components and assemblies using CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks).
- Perform structural analysis and simulations (e.g., Finite Element Analysis - FEA ) to validate designs under various load conditions.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Collaborate with manufacturing and stress teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective to produce.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to the resolution of technical issues throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant aviation regulations and standards (e.g., CS-25 ).
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in aircraft structural design and analysis.
- Proficiency with CAD software and structural analysis tools (FEA).
- Strong understanding of composite and metallic materials used in aerospace.
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
