Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to ensure the optimal functionality and maintenance of all ground support machinery at their Norwich facility. This role is essential for maintaining the smooth operations of aircraft turnarounds, ensuring all vehicles and equipment, from baggage loaders to tow tractors, are in safe and operational condition. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a diverse fleet of GSE. Working within a busy airport environment, you will contribute to the efficiency and safety of aviation operations in the Norwich area.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and servicing on all types of GSE.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of GSE.
• Respond to urgent repair calls to minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and parts used.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding GSE operation and maintenance.
• Operate various GSE to test functionality and ensure proper working order.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a GSE Technician or in a similar mechanical maintenance role, preferably with exposure to automotive or heavy machinery.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficiency in diagnostic tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• Must hold a valid driver's license; specific GSE certifications are advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding, outdoor, and fast-paced environment.
