Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to join their operational team in Norwich . This role is critical for maintaining the fleet of ground support vehicles and equipment essential for smooth airport operations within the aviation industry. You will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of GSE, ensuring their reliability and safety. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical skills, experience with heavy machinery or vehicles, and a commitment to operational excellence and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and servicing on all types of aircraft ground support equipment (e.g., tugs, belt loaders, air start units, catering trucks).
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in GSE.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and parts used.
• Ensure all GSE is operated and maintained in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and ensure minimal downtime.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and consumables for GSE maintenance.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a GSE Technician , Mechanic, or similar role, preferably within an airport or heavy vehicle environment.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information.
• Experience with a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment.
• A valid driving license; forklift or other relevant certifications are a plus.
