About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and skilled Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to join their operations team in Sheffield . This role is crucial for ensuring the operational readiness and safety of all ground support equipment used in aircraft handling and maintenance activities. You will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and servicing of a diverse range of GSE, from tugs and baggage tractors to passenger steps and aircraft jacks. This is a hands-on role for an individual who takes pride in maintaining essential equipment that keeps aviation operations running smoothly in Sheffield .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and servicing on all types of Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on GSE, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and utilize technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and repairs performed.
• Ensure all GSE complies with safety regulations and company standards before and after use.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a GSE Technician or a similar mechanical maintenance role, preferably within an aviation context.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to heavy equipment operation.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and willingness to undergo security checks.
