Aircraft Ground Support Equipment Technician

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and reliable Aircraft Ground Support Equipment Technician to join their busy operations team in Nottingham . This role is crucial for maintaining the fleet of specialized vehicles and equipment used to service aircraft on the ground. You will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of GSE, ensuring safety and operational readiness at all times. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety protocols within a fast-paced airport environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on a variety of ground support equipment (e.g., tugs, loaders, belt loaders, power units).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with GSE.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed on GSE.
• Operate and test equipment to ensure full functionality and safety before returning to service.

Requirements

• Experience as a Mechanic or Technician, preferably with experience in heavy machinery or aviation ground support equipment .
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain airport security clearance.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to strict operational procedures in Nottingham .
