Aircraft Interior Design Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Aircraft Interior Design Specialist to join their esteemed design studio in Portsmouth . This role involves conceptualizing and developing innovative interior designs for a range of aircraft cabins, focusing on passenger comfort, functionality, and aesthetics. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to translate design briefs into compelling visualisations and material specifications, ensuring all designs meet aviation safety standards and client expectations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in interior design, particularly within high-end or complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative concepts and detailed designs for aircraft cabin interiors, including seating, galleys, lavatories, and bespoke features.
• Create high-quality renderings, mood boards, and 3D models to present design proposals to clients and stakeholders.
• Select appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and weight restrictions.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and adherence to production constraints.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies in aircraft interior design.
• Manage design projects from concept through to completion, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.

Requirements

• Degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience in aircraft interior design or high-end bespoke interior design projects.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of materials, ergonomics, and colour theory.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
• Knowledge of aviation safety standards and cabin certification requirements is a plus.
