About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and skilled Aircraft Painter to join their dedicated team in Edinburgh . This role is essential for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and protective coatings of aircraft, ensuring they meet high standards of appearance and durability. You will work within a professional maintenance environment, utilizing specialized techniques and materials to prepare and paint various aircraft surfaces. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure optimal adhesion and finish.
• Apply primers, paints, and protective coatings using various methods, including spray guns and brushes, ensuring even and smooth application.
• Identify and repair minor paint defects, chips, and scratches on aircraft exteriors.
• Mix paints accurately to achieve specified colours and finishes according to technical data sheets.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safe handling procedures for all paints and solvents used.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the painting area and associated equipment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Aircraft Painter or in a similar industrial painting role.
• Familiarity with aerospace coatings, primers, and solvents.
• Skilled in surface preparation techniques and the application of various paint finishes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and safety data sheets.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Must be able to work effectively within a team and follow instructions precisely in the aviation maintenance setting.
