Aircraft Performance Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and analytical Aircraft Performance Analyst to join their team on a fully remote basis, supporting their operations in Edinburgh, Scotland . This role is critical for optimizing aircraft operational efficiency, fuel economy, and flight planning. You will analyze vast amounts of flight data, conduct performance studies, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance aircraft performance and reduce operational costs. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze flight data recorder (FDR) and cockpit voice recorder (CVR) data to assess aircraft performance characteristics.
• Develop and refine performance models to predict fuel consumption, range, and payload capabilities under various conditions.
• Conduct studies on aircraft systems efficiency, including engine performance, aerodynamics, and weight and balance.
• Provide recommendations for optimizing flight plans, cruise profiles, and operational procedures to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.
• Collaborate with flight operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to implement performance improvements.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on aircraft performance findings and recommendations for management.

Requirements

• Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience in aircraft performance analysis , flight data analysis, or a similar role within the aviation industry.
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and aircraft systems.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, SQL).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently and effectively communicate complex technical information in a remote work environment.
