About the Role

Our client is actively recruiting for a skilled Aircraft Structures Mechanic to join their busy MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility in Sunderland . This role is fundamental to maintaining the structural integrity of aircraft, involving the repair, modification, and overhaul of airframes. You will work with a variety of materials, including composites and metals, ensuring all structural work meets rigorous aviation standards. Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural repairs and modifications on aircraft airframes, including fuselage, wings, and tail sections.
• Work with various materials such as aluminum alloys, composites, and other advanced structural components.
• Read and interpret structural repair manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate repairs.
• Conduct inspections to identify structural damage, corrosion, or fatigue, and plan repair procedures.
• Ensure all structural work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with aviation regulations and company standards.

Requirements

• Significant experience as an Aircraft Structures Mechanic or Sheet Metal Worker.
• Proficiency in working with aircraft metals and composite materials.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, repair manuals, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of aircraft structural systems and repair techniques.
• Skilled in the use of relevant tools and equipment for structural repair and fabrication.
