About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Structures Mechanic to join their busy MRO facility in Sunderland . This role is fundamental to ensuring the structural integrity and airworthiness of aircraft operated by their diverse clientele. You will be responsible for performing inspections, repairs, and modifications to aircraft airframes, wings, fuselages, and other structural components. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in sheet metal work, composite repair, and a thorough understanding of aircraft structural principles within the aviation industry. Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of aircraft structures to identify damage, corrosion, or fatigue using visual and non-destructive testing methods.
• Execute repairs and modifications to aircraft airframes, including sheet metal fabrication, riveting, and composite material bonding.
• Interpret structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure repairs meet required standards.
• Fabricate and install new structural components as required.
• Maintain meticulous records of all structural repairs and inspections performed.
• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and aviation regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Aircraft Structures Mechanic or Sheet Metal Worker in the aerospace industry.
• Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication, riveting, drilling, and forming techniques.
• Experience with composite material repair is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret aircraft structural repair manuals and engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of aircraft structural integrity principles and FAA/EASA regulations.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
