About the Role
Our client seeks a dedicated and skilled Aircraft Structures Technician to join their aviation maintenance facility in Birmingham . This role is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of our client's aircraft fleet, ensuring compliance with stringent safety and airworthiness standards. You will be responsible for performing repairs, modifications, and inspections on aircraft airframes and associated structures, playing a vital part in operational safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of structural repair techniques, and a commitment to upholding the highest professional standards in a collaborative team setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections of aircraft structures to identify damage, corrosion, or fatigue using various non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
- Execute repairs and modifications to aircraft airframes, including sheet metal work, composite repairs, and bonding, following approved technical data.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals to guide structural repair procedures.
- Work closely with the engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure all structural work meets specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain meticulous records of all structural maintenance activities, including materials used and time spent, in the company's maintenance tracking system.
- Safely operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment used in structural repair.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Aircraft Structures Technician or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication, composite repair techniques, and structural bonding.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant aviation standards and airworthiness regulations.
- Experience with NDT methods for structural inspection is advantageous.
