Animator - 3D Character Specialist

About the Role

You will work closely with the animation director and the wider art team to ensure characters move with personality, weight, and emotion, contributing significantly to the overall quality and immersion of our client's projects. Key Responsibilities

• Animate high-quality 3D character performances for games, film, or other media, focusing on realism and emotional depth.
• Interpret and implement animation notes from the Animation Director and Art Leads to refine character movement.
• Collaborate with rigging artists to ensure character rigs meet animation needs and performance targets.
• Create animation cycles, special moves, facial animations, and in-game cinematics.
• Maintain consistency in animation style and quality across all character assets.
• Participate in animation reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback within the team.

Requirements

• Proven experience (4+ years) as a 3D Character Animator, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of character performances.
• Proficiency in industry-standard animation software such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, body mechanics, weight, and timing.
• Experience with facial animation and lip-sync is highly desirable.
• Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a collaborative studio environment.
• A passion for storytelling and bringing characters to life through movement.
