About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Application Security Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. This role is critical in ensuring that all software developed by the company is secure by design and free from vulnerabilities. You will work closely with development teams throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks in applications. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive security professional to embed security practices within development workflows, influence secure coding standards, and contribute significantly to the robustness and trustworthiness of our client's products from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate security best practices into the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) .
- Conduct security reviews of application designs, code, and architectures.
- Perform application vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Develop and implement secure coding standards and guidelines for development teams.
- Provide guidance and training to developers on secure coding techniques and security best practices.
- Investigate and remediate security vulnerabilities found in applications.
- Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to define security requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience as an Application Security Engineer or in a related software security role.
- Strong understanding of common web application vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and mitigation techniques.
- Experience with security testing tools, static and dynamic analysis (SAST/DAST), and code review.
- Knowledge of secure coding principles across various programming languages.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security implications for applications.
