About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and hands-on Apprentice Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering division in Bristol . This apprenticeship offers a practical pathway to becoming a skilled mechanical engineer, providing extensive on-the-job training and learning opportunities. You will be involved in various stages of the engineering process, from design support and drafting to assisting with testing and fabrication. Working alongside experienced engineers and technicians, you will gain invaluable experience in a challenging and rewarding field, contributing to innovative projects within a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems using CAD software.
- Support engineers in creating technical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
- Help with the assembly, testing, and validation of prototypes and equipment.
- Participate in workshop activities, including fabrication and machining under supervision.
- Learn to identify and resolve mechanical issues encountered during projects.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and organized engineering workshop environment.
Requirements
- A strong aptitude for mathematics and physics.
- A keen interest in mechanical engineering principles and design.
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Must be able to work full-time at our Bristol facility.
