Arboricultural Consultant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Arboricultural Consultant to join their team based in Birmingham . You will be responsible for providing expert advice on tree management, health, and preservation for a diverse range of clients, including private landowners, developers, and local authorities. This role involves significant site visits, detailed assessments, and the creation of comprehensive reports to ensure the long-term health and safety of trees within various landscapes, contributing to greener urban and rural environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed tree condition surveys and hazard assessments for both individual trees and woodlands.
• Provide expert advice on tree preservation orders, planning applications, and related legislation.
• Develop tree management plans, including pruning schedules, disease and pest control strategies, and planting recommendations.
• Prepare detailed reports, specifications, and method statements for arboricultural works.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery and communication.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in arboriculture or tree-related consultancy.
• Relevant qualifications such as the RFS Certificate in Arboriculture, Lantra Awards, or an equivalent degree/diploma.
• Proficiency in using tree survey software and GIS tools for data management.
• Strong knowledge of tree biology, pathology, and pest identification.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and client management skills.
