About the Role
Our client is seeking a certified and experienced Arborist to join their team in the beautiful region of Bristol, South West England, UK . This role involves the expert care, maintenance, and management of trees within urban and rural environments, contributing to the health and safety of the local ecosystem and communities. You will be responsible for tree inspections, pruning, felling, and planting, ensuring compliance with best practices in arboriculture and within the broader Agriculture & Forestry sector. The ideal candidate will have a passion for trees and a commitment to professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tree inspections to assess health, identify diseases, and recommend appropriate treatment or removal.
- Carry out tree pruning, lopping, and shaping to maintain tree health, structure, and safety.
- Safely fell trees using climbing techniques or mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs) where necessary.
- Undertake tree planting and establishment care to promote healthy growth.
- Operate and maintain chainsaws, climbing gear, and other arboricultural equipment safely and efficiently.
- Advise clients and the public on tree care, management, and relevant legislation in the Bristol area.
Requirements
- Certified Arborist qualification (e.g., RFS Certificate in Arboriculture, Lantra Awards).
- Proven experience in practical arboriculture, including climbing and rigging.
- Proficiency in tree identification, health assessment, and pest/disease diagnosis.
- Relevant NPTC or equivalent certifications for chainsaw use and MEWPs are essential.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Good physical fitness and a strong commitment to health and safety protocols in South West England .
