About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Architectural Technician to join their established architectural practice located in the heart of Sunderland . This role is crucial for translating architectural designs into precise, buildable information. You will work closely with a team of architects and designers, focusing on producing detailed drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled individual to contribute to a variety of local and regional projects, gaining hands-on experience in a supportive, office-based environment where collaboration and direct mentorship are key to professional growth and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and detailed technical drawings, plans, and elevations using CAD software.
- Prepare specifications for materials, finishes, and construction methods.
- Assist architects and designers in developing planning applications and building regulation submissions.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project progression.
- Undertake site visits to monitor progress and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
Requirements
- Qualification or apprenticeship in Architectural Technology or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and preferably Revit.
- Good understanding of UK building regulations and construction processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawing production.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in an office environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
