About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and inspiring Art and Design Teacher to foster artistic talent within a progressive secondary school in Liverpool . You will be responsible for delivering engaging curriculum content across various artistic disciplines, encouraging students to explore their creativity and develop technical skills. This role is key to nurturing the next generation of artists and designers, providing them with the foundational knowledge and practical experience they need to excel. The successful candidate will join a dedicated faculty that values innovation, student expression, and a strong commitment to the arts within education.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver stimulating Art and Design lessons to secondary school students.
Teach a range of media and techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, and more.
Foster student creativity, critical thinking, and technical proficiency in artistic expression.
Assess student work regularly, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
Maintain a well-organised and inspiring art studio environment, ensuring safety and proper use of materials.
Encourage students to develop their own artistic voice and explore diverse artistic movements and styles.

Requirements

Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed.) with QTS.
Strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency across various Art and Design disciplines.
Experience teaching Art and Design at the secondary school level.
Excellent knowledge of art history, theory, and contemporary art practices.
Ability to inspire and engage students with diverse artistic interests and abilities.
Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to safeguarding.
