Assembly Operative

We have a temporary role available within DS Smith's Smethwick site to help support a Christmas project. Role: Assembly Operative Location: DS Smith, Summit Crescent, Smethwick,West Midlands. B66 1BT Rate: £13.87ph Contract length: 21st October - 15th December Shift Patterns: Monday - Thursday 8am - 4pm and Friday 8am - 3pm Start: 21st October

Responsibilities

• Assembly of cardboard boxes, profiling, glueing, stapling.
• Reporting to the Shift Team Leader and following their direction as required
• Ensuring the quality of product produced is to DS Smith standards
• Helping the team to achieve productivity goals and being part of improvement initiatives
• Maintaining highest possible standard of housekeeping
• Adhering to UK Health and Safety at all times and encouraging others to do the same Essential requirements:
• Good level of verbal and written communication
• Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
• Ability to conduct manual handling and be standing for long periods of time
• Proactive nature and ability to work upon own initiative
• Flexibility towards shift work and overtime
• Own safety shoes/boots or trainers
