We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a temporary basis in Winchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive finance professional who is available at short notice and looking to support a busy and well-established business.

This role is full-time (), office-based, working 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing purchase ledger invoices accurately and efficiently
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Maintaining and updating the fixed asset register
• Managing weekly payment runs
• Assisting with general accounting and finance administration duties
• Supporting the wider finance team with month-end activities and reporting requirements
• Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve account queries

Skills & Experience Required:

• Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
• AAT qualified, studying towards AAT, or possessing equivalent accounting qualifications and experience
• Strong working knowledge of Sage 50
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to work independently
• Experience of import/export processes would be highly advantageous, although not essential
