About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and experienced leader to serve as the Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Pastoral Care at a dynamic secondary school in Liverpool . This senior leadership role is crucial in fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students, overseeing student well-being, behaviour, and safeguarding. You will lead a dedicated team of pastoral staff, implement effective strategies to promote positive student development, and work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the pastoral care team, including heads of year and student support staff.
• Develop, implement, and review policies and procedures relating to student well-being, behaviour, and safeguarding.
• Oversee student attendance, punctuality, and behaviour management systems.
• Provide guidance and support to students facing personal, social, or emotional challenges.
• Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
• Contribute to the strategic leadership of the school and the development of its overall ethos.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong record of leadership experience.
• Demonstrable experience in managing student welfare, behaviour, and safeguarding.
• Thorough understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
