About the Role
Our client seeks a proactive and diligent Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance department in Coventry . This role is instrumental in supporting the Management Accounting team with daily operational tasks, including ledger management, accruals, prepayments, and assisting with management accounts production. You will work closely with the Management Accountant to ensure timely and accurate financial information is available for business analysis and decision-making. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of postings.
- Process accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset register maintenance.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering and analysing financial data.
- Prepare various financial reports and ad-hoc analyses as requested by management.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.
Requirements
- Currently studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, AAT).
- Previous experience (1-2 years) in an accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably with management accounts exposure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, essential for collaborating with colleagues in Coventry .
