About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Civil Engineer to join their well-respected firm in Cambridge . This senior leadership role will involve taking significant responsibility for project delivery, client management, and business development within the region. You will play a key role in shaping the engineering strategy, mentoring the team, and ensuring the technical excellence of projects ranging from complex urban regeneration schemes to sensitive historical site developments. This is an excellent opportunity for an established engineer looking to progress into a leadership position with tangible impact on both technical delivery and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a portfolio of diverse civil and infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
- Oversee the technical quality and delivery of engineering designs, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
- Contribute to business development efforts, including bidding for new projects and expanding client networks.
- Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and professional development.
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and risk effectively to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.
Requirements
- Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng MICE or equivalent) with substantial post-chartership experience.
- Proven track record in managing complex civil engineering projects and leading design teams.
- Strong commercial acumen and demonstrable experience in business development and client relationship management.
- Expertise in areas such as infrastructure design, structural engineering, or urban planning.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Experience working within the Cambridge development landscape is highly advantageous.
