Associate Partner - Family Law

Manchester | Hybrid Working

Family law is about people. At some of the most challenging and important moments in their lives, clients need expert legal advice delivered with empathy, confidence and care.

At Slater Heelis, that's exactly what we do.

We're looking for an experienced Family Solicitor to join our highly regarded team as an Associate Partner. This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-quality matters while being part of a firm where people genuinely enjoy what they do, support one another and take pride in delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.

Why Slater Heelis?

Many firms talk about progression, flexibility and quality work. We offer those too. What truly sets us apart is the experience of working here.

Our Family team has built a culture that is collaborative, supportive and genuinely enjoyable. You'll work alongside talented colleagues who are passionate about Family Law and committed to helping one another succeed. There's real energy within the team, a strong social spirit and a shared belief that you can achieve excellent results for clients without sacrificing your wellbeing.

At Slater Heelis, you'll work directly with experienced Partners and senior leaders. You'll be trusted, supported and involved, rather than feeling like a small cog in a much larger machine.

We believe great lawyers do their best work when they're given the space to focus on clients and quality. That's why we have realistic billing expectations and a sustainable approach to performance, allowing you to concentrate on delivering outstanding legal advice and building meaningful client relationships.

As part of the growing Lawfront Group, you'll also be joining an ambitious business at an exciting stage of its journey. It's a chance to contribute to something bigger while helping shape the future of an already successful Family team.

The Role

You'll manage a varied and high-quality caseload with both national and international work across both financial remedy and private children matters, including:

• Divorce and separation

• Complex financial remedy cases

• Private children disputes, including child arrangements and relocation matters

• Cohabitation and relationship breakdown issues

• Pre and post-nuptial agreements

• Matters involving high-net-worth individuals and business assets

Alongside your client work, you'll play an active role in business development, mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to the continued growth and success of the department.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Family Solicitor who combines technical excellence with genuine empathy and a passion for client care.

You'll have:

• Strong experience across both financial remedy and private children matters

• Excellent relationship-building and client care skills

• The ability to manage a busy and varied caseload independently

• Experience developing professional networks and winning work

• A collaborative approach and a desire to support colleagues

• Ambition to play a key role in the growth of a successful Family team

Most importantly, you'll be someone who values being part of a supportive team environment and wants to build a long-term career in a firm where people matter.

A Place Where Careers Move Forward

We're committed to helping our people grow. In the last year alone, three members of the team have been promoted, demonstrating our commitment to recognising talent and creating genuine opportunities for progression.

Whether your ambition is to further establish your personal brand, develop your leadership skills or continue your journey towards Partnership, you'll find the support, mentorship and opportunities to help you get there.

Join a Team Where You'll Enjoy Law More

This is an opportunity to do excellent work, with excellent people, in an environment that values quality over presenteeism, collaboration over hierarchy and long-term success over short-term pressure.

If you're looking for a role where you can make a real impact on clients' lives while enjoying the experience of coming to work every day, we'd love to hear from you
