Automatic Door Service Engineer - London
Basic Salary: Up to £37,500 + London Weighting Allowance + Bonus + Overtime
Ote: £60,000+
Location: South London / South of the River Thames Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
The Opportunity
An award-winning, national market leader in the automatic door industry is looking to expand its service engineering team across South London and the South East, with two exciting opportunities available for Engineers based in London.

The package includes a basic salary of up to £37,500, approximately £5,000 in London Weighting Allowance, 33 days' holiday, an attractive efficiency bonus and a lucrative callout and overtime scheme, with realistic on-target earnings of £60,000+.
Importantly, previous automatic door experience is NOT essential.
Whilst applications from experienced Automatic Door Engineers are particularly welcome, the company is also keen to consider engineers from other relevant technical industries, including:
Security Systems - CCTV, intruder alarms and electronic security.
Access Control - Electronic access systems, intercoms, door entry and locking systems.
Gate & Barrier Automation - Automated gates, barriers and entrance systems.
Industrial Doors - Roller shutters, sectional doors and high-speed doors.
Other Electrical / Mechanical Field Service backgrounds - Particularly engineers experienced in fault finding, servicing and repairing electromechanical equipment.
Candidates from these sectors with strong electrical, electronic and mechanical fault-finding skills are encouraged to apply, even without previous automatic door experience.
As an Automatic Door Service Engineer, You Will Be Responsible For:
Servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of automatic door systems manufactured by companies such as ASSA ABLOY, Record, GEZE, dormakaba, Stanley, TORMAX, Horton and Label.
Diagnosing and resolving electrical, electronic and mechanical faults.
Carrying out basic electrical wiring, component replacements and repairs.
Delivering planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown services.
Ensuring equipment operates safely and in accordance with relevant industry standards, including BS EN 16005.
Providing an excellent level of customer service while working independently across your designated territory.
The Successful Candidate Will Ideally Have:
Previous experience as an Automatic Door Engineer OR a background in a relevant field service industry such as security, access control, gate automation or industrial doors.
Strong electrical, mechanical and electronic fault-finding skills.
Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing technical equipment in the field.
The ability to diagnose faults and work independently.
Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
A full UK driving licence.
Desirable but NOT essential:
Previous experience working on automatic doors.
A current or previously held EN 16005 qualification.
A valid CSCS card.
Knowledge of automatic door manufacturers and associated control systems.
Engineers from alternative industries will be considered based on their transferable technical skills and field service experience.
Salary & Benefits
The successful candidate will receive an excellent remuneration package, including:
Basic salary up to £37,500, depending on experience (40-hour working week).
London Weighting Allowance - approximately £5,000 per year.
Efficiency Bonus - worth approximately £6,000 per year.
Expected OTE of £60,000+ with bonus, overtime and callout earnings.
Callout rota - 1 week in every 4, with a £275 weekly standby allowance.
Overtime paid at 1.5x between 6pm and 8am during the week and for all hours worked at weekends.
33 days' annual leave.
Door-to-door pay - home-based field service role.
Salary review following probation and every 12 months thereafter.
