Automation Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Automation Electrical Engineer to join their thriving engineering department in Oxford . This role focuses on the design, implementation, and support of automated electrical systems that drive efficiency and productivity across various manufacturing processes. You will be involved in everything from initial concept and design through to commissioning and ongoing support, working with cutting-edge automation technology. The ideal candidate is passionate about automation, possesses strong electrical and control system knowledge, and is eager to contribute to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control systems for automated machinery and production lines.
• Program PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems to meet operational requirements.
• Install, commission, and test new automation equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical and automation issues, implementing timely and effective solutions.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and operations teams to integrate automation solutions.
• Ensure all automation designs comply with relevant safety standards and company policies.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering , Automation, or a related field.
• Proven experience (4+ years) in industrial automation and electrical control systems.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens S7, Rockwell) and HMI/SCADA development.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control panel design, and safety circuits.
• Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Profinet, EtherNet/IP).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
