Automation Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Automation Electrical Engineer to join their progressive team in Brighton . This role is crucial for the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated control systems that enhance efficiency and productivity across their operations. You will work with state-of-the-art technologies to develop, program, and commission automated solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in industrial electrical systems, PLC programming, and HMI design, with a passion for driving innovation in manufacturing and process automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement electrical control systems for automated machinery and processes.
• Program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) from various manufacturers (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
• Design Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
• Perform electrical wiring, panel building, and field installation of control systems.
• Conduct system testing, commissioning, and provide technical support to ensure smooth operation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand automation requirements and deliver effective solutions.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering , Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial automation and electrical control systems.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text) and HMI/SCADA development.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical components, power distribution, and safety standards.
• Experience with robotics integration and variable frequency drives (VFDs) is a plus.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
