Automation Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Automation Electrical Engineer to join their innovative team in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire . This role is integral to designing, implementing, and supporting automated electrical control systems for various industrial applications. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control panels and systems for industrial automation projects.
• Program and commission PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces) from various manufacturers.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and automation issues on-site and remotely.
• Specify and select automation components, including sensors, drives, and robotics.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics and documentation for control systems .
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define automation requirements and deliver effective solutions.

Requirements

• Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial automation and electrical control systems .
• Proven experience with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
• Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
• Experience with electrical design software and generating schematics.
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed for commissioning and support.
