Automation Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Automation Electrical Engineer to join their innovative team in Edinburgh . Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control systems, including PLC programming, HMI configuration, and SCADA integration.

• Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using CAD software.
• Perform factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site commissioning of automation systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and automation issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with software engineers and mechanical designers to deliver integrated solutions.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing industrial automation solutions.
• Proficiency with major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and HMI/SCADA software.
• Solid understanding of electrical safety standards and control system design principles.
• Experience with industrial networks and communication protocols.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
