About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Automation Electrical Engineer to join their state-of-the-art facility in Sunderland . This role focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated control systems that are vital to our manufacturing operations. You will be at the forefront of adopting new technologies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and safety across our production lines. The successful candidate will thrive in a hands-on environment, contributing to the continuous improvement of our industrial processes and working as part of a dedicated engineering team committed to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for industrial automation systems.
- Install, commission, and troubleshoot automated machinery and control systems .
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics for automation projects using CAD software.
- Implement and optimize robotic systems and integrated manufacturing solutions.
- Ensure all automation designs comply with safety standards and regulations.
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance staff on automated equipment.
Requirements
- Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
- Proven experience in industrial automation and control system design.
- Proficiency with major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI software.
- Knowledge of robotics , servo drives, and industrial networking protocols.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety principles and functional safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in Sunderland .
