About the Role
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Automation Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team in Bradford, West Yorkshire, UK . This role is central to the design, implementation, and optimisation of automated manufacturing processes. You will work hands-on with control systems, robotics, and PLCs to enhance production efficiency and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical control systems for automated production lines, including schematics and panel layouts.
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs to ensure seamless operation of automated machinery.
- Integrate new automation technologies and equipment into existing manufacturing processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis of electrical and automation failures and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, production staff, and external suppliers on automation projects.
- Ensure all automation systems meet relevant safety standards and compliance requirements, such as Functional Safety .
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related automation field.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing industrial automation systems .
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000) and HMI development.
- Experience with robotic systems (e.g., KUKA, ABB) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control panel design, and industrial networking.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
