About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join their innovative team, working remotely. This role is critical for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems that enhance the efficiency and precision of manufacturing processes. You will be instrumental in developing cutting-edge solutions that drive productivity and reduce operational costs. This fully remote position requires a proactive engineer who can manage projects from conception through to deployment, collaborating effectively with on-site teams and stakeholders across various departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission automated machinery and control systems using PLC, SCADA, and HMI platforms.
• Develop and implement robotic solutions for manufacturing processes, including programming and integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing automation systems, minimising downtime.
• Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to define automation requirements and solutions.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation, including schematics, operational manuals, and validation reports.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automation technology and recommend adoption where appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in industrial automation engineering, with strong PLC programming skills (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
• Experience with robotic systems (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA) and HMI/SCADA software.
• Proficiency in electrical design, control system architecture, and safety standards.
• Excellent remote problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Strong technical documentation and communication abilities.
