About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join their innovative team, working remotely from Southampton . Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automated control systems using PLCs, SCADA, and HMI software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing automation systems, minimizing downtime.
- Develop and execute test plans for automated equipment and software.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate automation solutions into larger systems.
- Write and maintain clear, concise documentation for automation designs, code, and procedures.
- Research and recommend new automation technologies and strategies to improve efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Automation Engineer with expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens , Allen-Bradley).
- Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial networking protocols.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles relevant to automation.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote team environment.
