About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join their innovative team, working remotely from Southampton . This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and optimizing automated systems and processes that enhance efficiency and productivity across various applications. You will work in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment, contributing to cutting-edge projects. The position is fully remote, allowing you to leverage your expertise from anywhere, while collaborating closely with a dedicated team focused on pioneering automation solutions and driving operational excellence through smart technology integration, making it a key role within their remote workforce.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement automated control systems using PLCs, SCADA, and HMI software.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing automation systems, minimizing downtime.
Develop and execute test plans for automated equipment and software.
Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate automation solutions into larger systems.
Write and maintain clear, concise documentation for automation designs, code, and procedures.
Research and recommend new automation technologies and strategies to improve efficiency.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as an Automation Engineer with expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens , Allen-Bradley).
Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial networking protocols.
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles relevant to automation.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote team environment.
