About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Battery Systems Engineer to join their expanding electrification team in Norwich, Norfolk . This role is crucial for the development and integration of advanced battery systems for electric and hybrid vehicles. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and testing of battery packs, focusing on performance, safety, thermal management, and longevity. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop battery pack architectures, including cell selection, module integration, and thermal management systems.
- Perform system-level analysis and simulations for battery performance, safety, and State of Charge (SoC) / State of Health (SoH) estimation.
- Develop and execute test plans for battery components and systems, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to ensure seamless integration of battery systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to battery performance, reliability, and safety.
- Stay current with advancements in battery technology and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive battery system design and development.
- Strong understanding of battery chemistry, cell technologies, and pack design principles.
- Experience with battery management systems (BMS) hardware and software.
- Proficiency in simulation tools for thermal and electrical analysis (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink).
- Knowledge of automotive safety standards and testing procedures for battery systems.
